Drunk in love.

Sat here on my own thinking of you and me, netflix and biscuits,

You were with me because I was a misfit,

But between us it’s just distance,

Trying to get us back to where we were, trying to lift us.

My friends keep telling me; give it up, give it up, let her go, live it up,

I guess I drink too much, Have another drink and I can feel your touch…  it’s a crutch.

Call it drunk in love, call it what you wana,

But I was on the keys, you were the performer,

You were my side-kick you were my Robin, but it’s like you went and forgotten and I find it all shocking,

Hate to be truthful, but it’s mad to think you won’t hold me like you used to.
And I’ve saved all your texts with x’s,

Disagreements with your x’s,

But best wishes,

Mr,  Mrs,

Not right man, this isn’t what I wanted..

Mentally physic, flying quidditch,

Rounders, hit it, round the park after dark and our visits to the drive through,

And late night Thai food,

But that night you were in a right mood,

And smiled at the other guys cute,

Right through to the end, I’d walk on hot coals,

To make you happy that was my goal,

I thought enough loyalty was shown I didn’t expect to be Royaly thrown,

Sat here with these beers all alone,

In an empty home,

It’s mad to think you won’t hold me like you used to.

Advice For Musicians who want Gigs.

Upon the days of the music journey for us artists, it gets hard, you get sick of been your own boss, you spend hours in songs, days, weeks &  months. You put your all in and stump up to your local boozer only to be valued as an average joe.

Upon my beautiful journey, I met my good friend Alam, by which time i was sick, sick of not gigging, sick of been the odd one out. I wanted gigs just to have gigs, so I wouldn’t get nervous as hell next time I performed.

I did a few shows with Alam, we achieved greatly together, he always said to me don’t worry about not having shows you can do songs and still achieve at home, of course, I was still wrapped up in I want more gigs mode.

(There we are at Hull City Hall)

Years later, The advice that I took from Alam came to fruition. Now I look forward to the time I have gigging. But in the meantime I can build an artillery of new songs & stuff to do live.

So do not worry if you don’t have gigs, trust me, your not failing. Take that from experience, they’ll come. Spend time on making your sound right. I probably have more chance of getting gigs now more than I ever had. but right now.. You bet, I’m building up at home.

The Days – lyrics #1

Avici / Robbie Williams -The Days

Heart ache, heart break
All over town
But something flipped like a switch when you came around
And I’m in pieces, pick me up and put me together…

These are the days we’ve been waiting for
On days like these who could ask for more?

Leave them coming ’cause we’re not done yet
These are the days we won’t regret
These are the days we won’t forget.

If Only You Knew.

I came here for life, what would you do?

If your house was so poor,  that you ran out of food?

Would you like it, if someone said go back?

To a country, a place that’s fallen aback.

How would you feel? In a society stripped of money?

You would probably go elsewhere for family, to find the bees and the honey.

So why do you look at me, an judge me straight through ?

When you would do the same in my shoes, if only you knew.

Why I wrote this song #1

Why I wrote : Hold My hand.

We had lost my father in law, a great man, a funny man and very wise man at 82. My son used to sleep next to him on the sofa at the tender age of 3. They’d both fall asleep together.

My son doesn’t remember all that much, but I have never seen anyone love a kid like my father in law did. We lost him suddenly, and we told my son that he was in the stars. He kept asking when is he coming back down? (heartbreaking). My mother in law said that my son kept him going at times.  I’m glad he did, he had a great sense of humour, a country music fan and we both shared a love for Johnny Cash.

Not a day goes by without you in our thoughts.  Here is my song dedicated to my father In law and my son written by me.

What Having a Child Feels Like in Poetry.

(Me and my boy)

Understand.

I wake up on a morning, you come to me and hug me, I’m your everything but you just don’t understand.

When you cry because you can’t get your own way, it’s hard to bear, but one day you will understand.

When you feel like life is knocked you too you knees, your heart is broken I will be there, but you just don’t understand.

When you stop believing in yourself, you think your nothing, to me your a perfect and you just don’t understand.

When you get older, you will have a child and realise that you have a walking miracle, then you will understand.
